I loved the sweet honey smell of the beeswax, the fact that I could source it locally and take it straight home and make it into beautiful candles. From the beginning I loved everything about beeswax candle making.

At first, I just made them for friends and family, but then their friends started to ask for them as well - so the Bee & Candle was born.

I loved working with beeswax so much but because I have a complex disability and use a wheelchair, I needed to find better ways to make the candles. I experimented with different techniques and equipment to still make the candles using traditional methods but adapted in ways to make candles more safely and in larger quantities.

My hands are shaky and it is difficult for me, so it takes a lot of effort and concentration. They might not be perfect, but each candle is handmade, beautiful, and unique.

I live in the delightful historic town of Kyneton with my seeing eye dog Rave, and para-dressage horse Mintie.  If you would like to hear more about my riding you can visit My para-equestrian facebook page.
